DERMAPLANES
After Care
-
-Hydrate: Keep your skin well-hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser.
-Sun Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily, as your skin will be more
sensitive to the sun after treatment.
-Gentle Skincare: Use a mild cleanser and avoid harsh exfoliants for at least 48 hours.
-
-Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to breathe and recover.
-No Excessive Heat: Avoid saunas, hot showers, and strenuous exercise that can cause excessive sweating for 48 hours.
- Don’t Touch Your Face: Try not to touch your face unnecessarily, as your skin will be more vulnerable to bacteria and irritation.
What is the treatment?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliating treatment that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, commonly known as peach fuzz, from the surface of the skin.
This process reveals a smoother, brighter complexion and allows for better absorption of skincare products. Dermaplaning also helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and minor scars.
Who is it suitable for?
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, particularly those looking to achieve a smoother texture and a more radiant glow. It’s an excellent option for people with dry or dull skin, uneven skin tone, or mild acne scarring.
However, it may not be suitable for individuals with active acne, very oily skin, or certain skin conditions like rosacea. A consultation is recommended to determine if dermaplaning is the right treatment for your skin type.
Number of sessions we recommend?
For optimal results, we recommend a dermaplaning session every 4-6 weeks. This frequency allows the skin to complete its natural regeneration cycle and maintain a smooth, glowing appearance.
However, the number of sessions may vary based on individual skin needs and goals.
